Cheaper Council Rubbish Removals

CHARGES for the removal of large items in the Hinckley and Bosworth area are being reduced from 1 April 2018 in a bid to combat fly-tipping.

The new reduced charges aim to encourage residents to dispose of large items - such as fridges, freezers, washing machines, sofas, carpets, beds, mattresses and other furniture – responsibly.

Easier Recycling for Residents

RECYCLING for residents across the borough is set to become even easier from next month.

From 1 April, Hinckley and Bosworth residents will no longer need to separate paper and card from other recyclable materials using the inner caddy. Instead, paper, card, plastics, glass and cans can all be put together in the main blue lidded recycling bin.

Scam warning - Fake Undercover Police

Police are warning the public to be alert to a recent scam where people are approached by fake police officers and encouraged to take part in an undercover operation

Since November last year, Leicestershire Police has received eight reports of a scam of this nature and are warning the public to prevent further people falling victim to this crime.

Witherley School Children Design Logo

The winning logo for the new Witherley Parish Neighbourhood Development Plan has been announced following a design competition at Witherley Church of England Primary School.

Twenty Key Stage 2 pupils entered the competition and the winner was Eleanor Woodhouse (aged 8).

From 1st November 2017, patients in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland who are experiencing lower back pain will now receive more effective care as a result of changes that are being introduced to how the condition is treated.

Making A Difference Awards
