Flood Wardens Wanted

It is recommended that every parish should have at least 2-3 wardens, not just those who have a large river, brook or watercourse running through their area. Our Parish currently has two but we need some more to help.

During Storm Dennis and Ciara, Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland saw large amounts of flooding including areas that are not normally affected. This was due to the saturated ground, heavy rain deposits and limited dry spells. To find out what areas are at risk within your parish we recommend you visit the environment agency Flood maps for surface water and river flooding. See link below:

In partnership with the Environment Agency, your local authorities are running three (3) training sessions for anyone wishing to learn more about becoming a Community Flood Warden. See further details below
