Lane Setting 2019

The ancient tradition of selling lots of verge grazing within the village of Ratcliffe Culey took place on Thursday 25th April at The Gate Inn.

The auction was conducted by Mike Carter (auctioneer) and the seven lots raised £530 which go towards the £576.80 costs incurred to host the event.

All proceeds enable the event to continue year on year.

Travellers at The Bull Inn

The Council notified the police at 11.15 p.m. Wednesday 18th July that travellers had arrived at the Bull Inn.

The property owners were also notified this morning

They have the matter in hand. The Clerk will post on this page and via local facebook groups an update as soon as anything significant news is available.

Thursday morning they have left, and have relocated to Mancetter.

The Annual lane Setting will take place on

Thursday April 5th at the Gate Inn at Ratcliffe Culey.

The 7 lots will be auctioned off at approximately 8.30, the successful bidders will have their names entered into the auction record book, and be a part of history.

Cheaper Council Rubbish Removals

CHARGES for the removal of large items in the Hinckley and Bosworth area are being reduced from 1 April 2018 in a bid to combat fly-tipping.

The new reduced charges aim to encourage residents to dispose of large items - such as fridges, freezers, washing machines, sofas, carpets, beds, mattresses and other furniture – responsibly.
